Harmony $ONE delegation guide by MyCointainer (cold staking)

Anyone can delegate & stake $ONE following a few simple steps.

This guide covers delegation guides using One Wallet Extension.

Step 1. Create or login to your Harmony Wallet

Go to the Harmony Wallet and hit “Create a new address” or “Use an existing address” if you already have it (proceed to Step 2).

Click on browser extension. Install official Harmony One Wallet extension and create your account by providing your “Account Name”.

The next step will be to set up an account password and generate your 12-word key phrase. Write it down, and keep it somewhere safe! Note that whoever has access to your key phrase ultimately has access to your funds. In case you lost your back up key phrase, you won’t be able to retrieve your wallet.

The succeeding page will require you to fill in the chronological order of the key phrase, then click “next”. Set up your new PIN Code and confirm it.

That’s it. Your account has been created.

Log in to your account by clicking the Harmony extension icon. Simply Sign in here and choose the recently created account. Click “Accept”.

Step 2. Delegate ONE tokens

After successfully logging in, you will see a list of all validators. In order to start delegating, search for “MyCointainer2” or simply click here. You will see an information sheet regarding MyCointainer Node. Then click “Delegate”.

Enter the number of ONE tokens you are going to stake. To do this, you can enter the amount manually, or use the slider, or press the MAX button to stake everything at once. Then click “Next”.

The minimum staking amount is 1000 ONE.

Also, please consider the amount of transfer fees when deciding on the number of coins that you want to send! For: 1) delegation, 2) unstaking, and 3) withdrawal of rewards. You need to pay a network commission, so do not delegate all tokens, but leave 1–2 ONE tokens on your account to pay for transactions.

If everything worked out, then the Harmony wallet will display the following message:

And that’s it, you’re now a Delegator on the Harmony Network! You can unstake or re-delegate tokens after 7 epochs, which is approximately 5 days.
